Mumbai: Beginning 8 September, STAR Gold will present Chandni Chowk to Bollywood – a Journey of a Superstar, a seven week long festival of best of blockbuster movies of Akshay Kumar that will culminate with a mega event in October.
That’s not all! The viewers will also get to know the trivia on the illustrious journey of Kumar aka Akki in Khiladinama during the breaks of the movies. The journey of this khiladi has been a la Bollywood movie script where the dreams triumph over reality and the aspirations move the strongest of the mountains.
Star Gold general manager Sameer Rao said, “It gives us immense pleasure to encompass the road to success of Kumar, the undisputed superstar who has mastered all the genres of the Hindi cinema. Chandni Chowk to Bollywood the movie festival of Kumar on STAR Gold will take you through finer details of life and times, on screen and off screen of Kumar. We also thank Kumar as he will take time out from his busy schedule to perform at a mega event only for the viewers of STAR Gold.”

From working in a restaurant in Bangkok to the Khiladi of Bollywood to his recent blockbuster Singh is Kinng, STAR Gold brings exclusively to its viewers the journey of Kumar from the bylanes of Delhi’s Chandni Chowk to the glittering glamour world of Bollywood.

I, for one, never considered Akshay an A-lister. A-Listers dont have flops.

sv, it is not a film festival.
It is a mega star festival where the channel will showcase hot heroines dancing to Akshay’s tunes and paying tribute to his mega success.
Katrina, Bipasha, Kareena, etc are all there. Each episode will showcase each phase of Akshay’s exciting career. The shows will also have the audience’s extreme reaction on meeting Akshay and while watching his blockbusters.
The final show will have King Kumar sharing some exclusive stories about his rise to mega stardon. He will then perform exclusively to his hit number.
This show is made to boost TRP rating of the channel and give a unique experience to the viewers by showcasing the world of a new kingdom.
