After calling both JA and SR as ‘average grossers’, in a recent box-office article, ET is changing tunes:

* The year’s first hit film was Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Jodha Akbar’.

ET Link

* lukewarm response to “Sarkar Raj”

ET Link

And ET on the latest 4 releases: Link

Multiple posting of the same link does not change the fact.

Look at the irony of it all … u quote a SINGLE ET article and there are 3/4 articles from the same source that says the opposite!

Similarly you quote one single TOI article and I give you same number of links from the same source that deconstructs u!!!!

Who is trying best to escape in an illusion?

And while u are counting the hits, take a look on what it says about SR in all india’s paper(link of e-paper is given)

“Recently, when a producer proclaimed that his ‘political’ film was a hit, a leading distributor sent him a legal notice, saying, “Please don’t put up hoardings over the city proclaiming your film is a hit. I know how dismal the figures are. If you continue with your charade, I will be forced to sue you because otherwise I’ll have the income-tax officials at my doorstep.”

After all this, will the next producer/distributor put up an advertisement with gross figures? Of course he will. Check the newspapers on Monday, and this time you can call his bluff.”

    LOL

Tango Bhai – the subtlety in your comment was all in vain!

And I still continue to take a sadistic pleasure in deconstructing the propaganda from fans of a certain star/surname .. be it the time when it was directed against JA for obvious reasons … an agenda that miserably failed … but the marks of that constant propaganda is still engraved in the interesting archives of NG.

And now with SR … had NG gone in the direction envisioned by certain members here (as they eloquently remind us time and again) … SR wud had been painted a Blockbuster with one article from Economic Times and one from Times of India … when loads of articles from the same all-india newspapers say the opposite (which wud have been conveniently ignored).

In reality, the desperate attempt by makers and stars of SR to create a false perception in the media that it is a Hit, with all sort of dishonest means, have failed to have the desired effect.

With Bawejas taking a cue from the tamasha and following the footsteps, a part of the media that was once willing to buy the SR ’success’ story has realized the wild-goose-chase … and doesnt seem any more eager to be taken for a ride. The quick disappearance of SR from the theaters after just one week has helped in the process.

No wonder we have stopped getting the posts on ’success’ label from a certain known quarter.

And just as a small example to my response here, the propaganda is again out in the open with response from certain quarters by posting the same article for the nth time by the same member:

    http://www.naachgaana.com/2008/07/14/2008s-big-bollywood-hits-so-far-rediffs-list-race-jannat-ja-sarkar-raj-khuda-ke-liye/

Rks – i think its time to put in a rule that the same article shud not be posted again and again. Its meaningless (except for making certain agendas and propaganda more blatant than it already is).

Same goes for this thread also:

    http://www.naachgaana.com/2008/07/14/vinod-mirani-ja-not-universal-success-sarkar-raj-declared-hit/

And the best part in these endeavors is the doer is fully aware that these posts have been done before, still it continues with eager invitation to evoke appreciative comments from we-know-who … and amazingly we even get the predictable comments.

This is hardly helping in maintaining ‘quality’ of this site. These same articles and links are being posted again and again … the posting is done selectively in regard to certain topics … the dishonesty becomes more obvious when we get posts which only those one or two articles that favors a certain movie and conveniently ignores all other articles and reports that is not to one’s liking.

This is the main reason i consolidated all the half-yearly reports in a single thread here:

    http://www.naachgaana.com/2008.....y-reports/

the irony here is that both the article posted (links i have given above) had been prominently marked and given in my consolidated list. It would be a revelation for the members commenting on the reposts that those very articles were NOT ignored in my compilation. Imposing ’sonaar’ (gold), ‘lohar’ (cheap iron) or even cow dung into these articles does not change the basic facts.

Tango Bhai – I guess EVERYONE is fully aware who the distributor is, who was quoted by TOI. Thats the delusion game being played in NG. :)
