Wanted - My Review
July 8th, 2008

I seen this film a week ago…I cant belive I didnt review it…slipped my mind. That does not mean it’s an awful movie. Nor is it forgettable. It’s a film that will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time. Yes, the first 15 minutes is a big drag, but once Angelina enters the film with her beautiful smile and once Morgan makes his entry with his sauve dialogue delivery you are hooked. I’m not a big fan of these types of movies. Movies that are based on special affects, high speed car chases, machine guns going off, people getting killed left, right and centre. I always wonder when all this is happening, where the hell are the damn COPS to bust them…it’s like a bollywood movie…so much happens in brod daylight yet no one ever gets caught. But individuals have to understand that this film falls under the genre where logic does not apply. In this film, the characters are driving around in ferraris and crashing them like no tomorrow, characters are having sex in offices, characters are trying to curve bullets, characters are jumping on trains, characters are surviving after being in a train that fell down a mountain…it’s insane…yet FUN. It’s like a fun roller coaster ride with many twists and turns. There are many twists and turns in this film that are very unexpected. For example, Morgan Freeman’s character takes a complete turn towards the final reels. You don’t really get to know who he really is or what he really wants until the end. The character development in this film is what makes a big impact. Screenplay is good, not great, but it’s gripping. The special affects are amazing. Usually Im against special affects but in this movie its taken to a higher level. The train sequence in which James character tries to execute the person who is trying to kill him is beyond this world. That one particular scene makes the film worth watching. My favourite scene was when Angelina steps out of the water and we all can see her tattooed back and amazing booty…call me a PERV…I don’t care. She is just ravashing. Once she comes on screen and gives you that smile…your heart melts. She isnt in the film just to look good…she has a good role…and plays her part well. Morgan is ultra-cool. He fits any character. The man is very versatile and one of the best actors Hollywood has at the moment. James McAvoy in my opinion has got recognized after Last King of Scotland, in which I think he gave an amazing performance. I never knew who he was until I saw that film. He fits his role to the T…splendid job. Im yet to see his work in Attonement. Everyone else in the film play their part’s well. The finale full of gory, violent action is a treat as well…I think action lovers will love it. While Im praising this film like crazy, there are some cons. Like I said the first 15 mintues will tire you. I think the film could of been edited better too. Cutting off 10 to 15 minutes would of worked to the advantage of the film. I think the dialogue could have been way better. Morgan usually had the best lines…I loved it when he said Shoot Tha Mothafucka…you don’t expect Morgan to say something like that aye hahahahah. Overall, it’s a good summer flick…I dont think it will be the best summer flick since The Dark Knight is around the corner. If you love special affects and great action sequences with a few shocking suprises…you will enjoy this flick.
