Thank you (Aamir’s latest blog entry) Absolutely unbelievable match. These guys are super human. And what a comeback by Federer, with Nadal playing like a beast! As a Federer fan I am hugely disappointed but all credit to Nadal for a great game. Well done.
I have a 5am flight tomorrow and I still couldn’t switch off the TV. Am on tour with the team of Jaane Tu visiting theatres. In Delhi yesterday and today (or yesterday i.e. 5th and 6th), then Nagpur, and finally Pune. The response is absolutely thrilling! And what an opening. Unbelievable. Like an ‘A’ starcast film. A big thank you to my audience for the faith they have shown.
It has been so encouraging for Abbas and his young team to see the audience reaction first hand. Genelia and Imran are fully enjoying being mobbed. And the highlight for all of us was when we were in a live dial in on Aaj Tak and the caller was Amitji! You can imagine our surprise. We almost fell off our chairs in shock. And Amitji had such kind words to say about Abbas and the actors. Extremely encouraging. Amitji is not only the biggest star that Hindi Cinema has ever seen but an extremely graceful and generous human being.
We are all so thrilled with the response and they have all been reading the posts on my blog. I think I’ll ask them to post.
Have to wake up a 4am so I have exactly 2 hrs left to sleep. So though I don’t feel like I’m going to say bye for now.
Lots of love.
And, thank you. x

Liked this from aamir.

Well he must be very happy. Looks like 3 out of 3 for him as producer, and TZP/JTYJN probably cost 25Cr between them. For all the BO discussions on ROI, profit and stuff, this is probably the best economics lesson most will get

No way could have Jaane Tu… done well without Aamir at the production and creative helm. He was the one who asked Abbas to remove all the bad language the film originally had and also go easy on the use of English. He knew these aspects would prove vital for the film’s commercial viability.
Someone very rightly said that this could have easily gone the Socha Na Tha way…had it not been for Aamir promoting it the way he did.
Having said that, full marks to Abbas — for making a good film -though not a flawless one. After this, Delhi Belly looks very very interesting too. That’s supposedly a risque sex comedy from Aamir! Whoa! This production house is turning to be a magic box.
As for the above post, one saw Aamir and Amitabh getting quite emotional at the Jaane Tu premiere, but even then such glowing praise (and Amitabh did it once already on his blog)I didn’t expect — this being a complete teenage flick!

I am also disappointed.
I switched off the Tv when fedex was 5-2 down in tie breaker in 4th set and nadal was going to serve.
But latter in the morning I found that match went to 5th set at 9-7.That makes me even more disappointed.

true - aamir’s movie sense is helping him a great deal with the small budget movies turning to be run away hits. if u were to value every production company out there - aamir’s would definitely get the highest valuation ratio (may not be highest market cap)
sandy - amitabh is clutching at straws for friends IMO. i wont be surprised that he goes overboard the rest of this year practicing on ‘How to win friends and influence people’
btw - sandy - what are ur thoughts on imran? i have always believed superstars happen - there is this abstract thing that pulls people to a star. it happened with aamir/salman/srk/hrithik and now with ranbir/imran. ya - i know its just one movie etc etc - but screen presence for this guy was fantastic - dont u think
on the same note - what was harry baweja thinking - do u know? if ever a father proved to be the son’s biggest enemy - harry baweja is a close second to amitabh bachchan
