“Most films this year did not manage to cross the two week mark what could be counted as a saving grace were Asutosh Gowarrikar’s Jodha Aakbar and Abbas Mustan’s Race both films managed better business, than the rest, but with almost nil post profit and trade analysts say that the reasons are simple.”
“Even so, apart from the few successful films like Race, Jodhaa Akbar, Sarkar Raj and Jannat, 2008 still awaits its mega blockbuster.”
So satyam, most big media outlets are calling sr a success even when jay says its an avg. What was that again about bachchans and media bias. You can’t eat the cake and have it too - u know

It looks like Sarkaar Raaj has emerged as winner if the media at large is to be beleived.

Sarkar Raj is indeed a successful film. It’s one of the few successful films this year. The blockbusters are yet to come this year.

If Sarkar Raj with 35 cr to it’s credit is a hit, then all of us NG site members should prepare for a grand party at the end of the year.
This year may well be the greatest year in the history of Indian cinema, certainly 35 cr will be topped by a number of movies to come later.
Then why is everybody lamenting that bollywood has had a bad year so far.
It’s all in the accounting method my friend, as they say in corporate finance, change the accounting method and you can have as many hits as you want.

Well its just a smalltime site IBOS with 6,700 or so visitors a day that is saying that. Maybe Mayapuri and Filmi Kaliyan too are saying that
Idhar distributors ro rahe hain, and everyone knows the truth. 24 cr to 7 crore and now 2.50 crores. That says it all.
No wonder IBOS went from a 40 cr weekend, to 30 crore week to finally 25.33 crores and from hit in first and second week to semi-hit in week 3.
