My dog’s name is Shahrukh;KBC 2 was a flop…so what?

What if I name my dog Hitler? Or someone thinks the ongoing IPL is a flop? Or let us say Aamir Khan had named his dog Dara Singh or Ajay Devgan. I believe the media would not have blown any of the above out of proportion. Why is it a different scenario when it concerns Big B and SRK? Is the media itself banking on the two to attract attention or what? Seems.

Aamir’s dog is called Shahrukh and according to his blog the naming was not his making. So true, huh? But what readers could not fathom is why bring this up in his blog. But let assume he did it intentionally, so what? His intention could be to belittle SRK or make some fun which meant no offence or derision. On the other hand it could not have been the Shahrukh in SRK but just for the love of the name. In football terms we call it an own goal against Aamir but he should not be impaled or crucified for that.

And if Big B thinks SRK’s KBC was a flop that was his view though a little bit arrogant or conceited. He can see things his own way and does not need to go with the crowd all the time as he is his own man. Again Big B like Aamir should not be whipped like a slave who has no power to voice out an opinion.

The way the media and fans of SRK have reacted leaves much to be desired especially when they come from the world’s biggest democracy. One writer went out of the way to ask Aamir to apologise to SRK when he has not even asked Aamir for an explanation which can be likened to playing the judge, jury and executioner.

Having said that, Big B and Aamir have nothing to apologise for as they have done nothing offensive if one can take a cue from SRK’s reactions. So please let us leave the actors (to themselves who know each other very well and familiar with every move the other makes) to play their game.

My question is: What if the reverse had happened in the two cases would the two anger stakeholders have reacted the way they had done?

  1. Tiger this is a good write-up and agree overall with many of the points.

  2. Though I think your taking Aamir lightly here (for once!)
