(This has indeed come as a huge surprise !!)

The lull has finally ended! Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s JANNAT, directed by debutante Kunal Deshmukh, has fetched an excellent start. At places, the occupancy was 100%, at places 70%-80%. Inox, PVR and Velocity, Indore had a 100% start in the first show, Fame Surat was 100%, Inox Baroda was 100%, Prasad Hyderabad was 100%, Satyam Delhi was 100%.

According to Aditya Choksey, one of the leading distributors of C.I., “JANNAT has fetched the biggest start after RAAZ, for the Bhatts.” The Rajasthan distributor was ecstatic as well, so was the Punjab distributor. Mumbai and Delhi also recorded very good opening. The Bhatts seem to have a winner on hand!

What an asshole, corrupt and ignorant this IBOS and its owner is. Not only did he predict a poor picture for Bhoothnath ( before jumping on to the success bandwagon mid-week, on the advise of…), he is proved a fool again

“Meanwhile this upcoming week, an Emran Hashmi starrer Jannat, once again releases to a paltry opening. The film will be lucky to do 4-5 crores all over India with the opening bookings hovering around a negligible 5%”

This is really a big opening for any film, not just an Emraan film.
Last week, did somebody say Bhootnath’s opening is one of the biggest in recent times ?. LOL.

JUST A QUESTION WHAT IS WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS SORT OF REPORTING ?

u have taken some general multiplexes and generalized whole thing ,

(The initial is not good but the huge release gives the film a good chance to get good shares in the first week if it is appreciated by the public), here is one quote from another source

Lol this report is playing into the hands of those with statistical deficiencies. Lets pick a few scattered places across India and make it sound like the opening of Aap Ka Suroor.

Indeed the IBOS guy has made a huge blunder in the estimated Mumbai figure. He is out by over 1Cr it seems. Making such predictions is a no win situation.

Very valid point rockstar. Unusual reporting this, and in my view unethical.

don123: why is this reporting unethical. What should Taran say if indeed the film has taken 100% opening at many multiplex. I didnot see him generalising this and saying that the opening is 100% all over or that this is the best opening in recent times. He is just saying that this is on par with Raaz opening.

u can’t just put random multiplexes and generalize things , no information about any single screen is there neither any all india content is here

sure he has just listed down some centers where the film got 100%. but he didnt generalize at all. He has even mentioned that at places it is 70-80%.

well… I can say the various sources claiming an excellent start for Janat does not seem unusually grotesque.the theater where I saw the movie today had 3 shows housefull out of 4.

JANNAT always was going to be fairly big….i’m surprised that people are surprised as Emraan has managed to see this kind of stuff to thumping results before…

Infact Emraan has a success rate of more than 50% rivalled only by the khans/roshan in bollywood. He has seen to it many of his movies make average+ mark as A.SHAH told.
