TASHAN is just a week away and what one has seen in promos so far is the basic song and dance routine. However, if one recollects, the film’s promotion had kick started with an action teaser where the tinkle of a bullet did given an impression of a Tarantino outing in the offering.

Well, let’s spill the beans here and let it be known to one and all that TASHAN indeed has a high dose of action and the man behind that is none other than acclaimed action choreographer Peter Hain.

The man made much more than just his presence felt last year when he choreographed some breath taking stunts for one of the biggest money-spinner in the history of Indian cinema – SHIVAJI – THE BOSS.

While Peter managed to make all action sequences picturised on Rajinikanth look real, he was also busy with Bollywood quartet of Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, each of whom has participated in some imaginative action choreography.

This is not Peter’s first stint with Bollywood action though. Prior to TASHAN, he also made Abhishek Bachchan deliver some solid punches for RUN which otherwise was a no-show at the box office. Peter is also remembered for some imaginative choreography in ANNIYAN which was later dubbed in Hindi as APARICHIT.

    Not sure about Shivaji as have not seen that movie….but the mention of ‘Run’ is actually a dampner.

    Nitesh: The hindi RUN didn’t work, period..and it wasn’t a good movie by any means, however the action scenes were terrific here!! I’ve compared the first fight in the garage against the Tamil version,and it’s equally briliant if not better, Abhishek put a lot more energy in the fights IMO…however that aside, Hain’s work in ANNIYAN is one of my favorites!

    Akshay , the only reason why i remember Run is because of its hillarious comedy by ‘Monsoon’ Dubey. I do not remember its fight sequence but do remember that it was not worth remembering.

    Anniyan’s action was more of rope work and SP FX…so not sure if that is again used for Tashan.

    Nitesh: if you thought Vijay was great in RUN, then wait till you see the Tamil one…Vivek’s is TEN times funnier, and was one of te main reasons audiences flocked to the cinema again!
