Tibet-China and rest of the world

Something I really liked about this place was that it was not necessary to only post articles about movies, naach and gaanas, I have seen enough articles about rest of the things as well, thats why I am posting something which I feel is close to my heart.

I am from Delhi, so coming across Tibetans and their plight is not something new to me. People with no nation of their own, no place to call home, just a dream that one day their prayers would be answered, is something I have always seen in the eyes of these Tibetans. In the struggle of their survival at times they have to resort to prostitution and thievery. And even those Tibetans who are not involved in these anti social activities are seen in the same manner, with no respect. Asking rates to Tibetan women folk on Delhi roads is as common as potholes. From the so called plush areas like GK, Shalimar Bagh, or Def col, or even Delhi Delhi University, these women can be seen getting harassed.

Now for the first time ever may be their voice is heard across nations, because Olympics is coming to China, so called “peace” games. But what has the world done for these people, who have even lost their right to live a clean life. Where are those torch bearers of Democracy???? the so called “world’s largest Democracy”, “World’s oldest Democracy”, “Savior of Democracy and liberty”, United Nations, Axis of evil, Allied Forces. Now no one listens to the voice of a poor Tibetan calling for help?????

Of all the nations I thought India could feel the most for these people’s plight, as we are not only their neighbors, but even guardians of so many Tibetans, and not to mention, we share a same feeling of being a “gulam”, a feeling of agony, insult, shame, not even to call your own country your own. But what we did???? NOTHING. Everyone is silent, or too busy fighting who is bigger Khan. Why internet is silent, media is silent, people are silent???? just because China is a bigger nation???? Oh yes I forgot China is actually a bigger nation, and we can fight only against people who have no arms, no ammunition, nothing to fight with, we can only fight the nations which has no armies, which are poor, which are disabled. But China is none of these, they give us business, so what if their children below the age of 12 does all the industry work. But they have nukes, so what if they oppress people.

Don’t Tibet deserve a right to be free like all of us?? Governments across the globe prevents people from keeping a few animals as pets, but Tibetans are worse than those animals, they can not only be kept as pets, but also their land, culture, everything can be easily snatched away from them and can be burnt to let the torch of Olympics glow.

May be Tibetan’s method is wrong, they are too much into peace, their Dalai Lama threatens that he will quit if there is any violence by Tibetans, may be they should also start blowing up China, like Iraqis do. May be they should also start meeting fire with fire. As their peaceful protests are neither working on Chinese governments nor on the ears of torch bearers of Democracy.

Its funny that Olympics were actually started by fascists, kings who wanted to divert people from their pervert policies and inhuman laws, and right now Olypics torch is reaching a similar destination.

these are staying as refugee and with more trouble will only be liability on us , one wish india has to take active stand on tibet either in favour or in against

  2. What you saying dude. be a human for god’s sake. What you want??? to chuck them out??? because we don’t have balls to stand up for them???

We all lecture about eastern values, Indian culture, अतिथी देवो भव:, wheres all that now??? Liability???? how can you even say something like that man. Thats not cold, thats pathetic I would say. Imagine if the world would have said the same thing for Bengal famine, Gujrat Earthquakes, Tsunami, I am seriously disappointed dude. And I never was so pissed off even when you cursed me or called me some immature, childish or whatsoever.

  3. rockstar- “I am from Delhi, so coming across Tibetans and their plight is not something new to me. People with no nation of their own, no place to call home, just a dream that one day their prayers would be answered”

Bhaiyya I agreee on the humanitarian grounds. But these guys live like kings and do not give any respect to the locals in the hill states and us Indians. Govt. gets a fat sum of money from UN so unka bhi hath hai.

Dharmshala mein they have aparallel govt. in exhile.

Locals have shanty shops inke poore poore marketing complexes hain. They are very haughty and proud. So I do not have much sympathy with them.

You interact with them where they are well placed and you will realise kitne dimagh kharab hain inke.

  4. Dude first of all as I said I have interacted with them on all levels. Secondly our treatment has been no different to them.

Thirdly In Dharamshala they don’t have a parallel government to state government, they have Tibetan government.

But my whole point is that no one is doing anything for them, to inka to dimaag kharab hoga hi na mere bhai.

  5. “You interact with them where they are well placed and you will realise kitne dimagh kharab hain inke”

I agree Tango bhai. There is one camp near Mysore (Bailukuppe) 30% of these people engage themselves in illegal activities.

  6. dude i am not inhuman they are staying here for long time more than 30 years and except for some many are submerged into india , indian cuture was done when we welcomed them with both arms but what now whats their future? , when the stand of government of india on tibet is not clear , btw those incident u mentioned are natural calmity and not political , political refuges in long turn do create problems

  7. “Thirdly In Dharamshala they don’t have a parallel government to state government, they have Tibetan government.”

well again now their conduct is come into question now with even dalai lama is not spared and again their track record is not great they always had clash with locals isn’t it , how many of them are now willing to identify them as tibetans

  8. Indian govts stand is only because of the funds pumped in. And that is their stand, simply put

Interact with them and you will get my point.

Abhi to dekho locals inko maar ke bhagayein ge. They havec plush schools etc. while local hill ppl are living in poverty.

  9. Shetty- you are right. ” agree Tango bhai. There is one camp near Mysore (Bailukuppe) 30% of these people engage themselves in illegal activities.”

    Illegal and immoral both.

The worse thing is that they do not consider themselves refugees. Zara 19-20 ho jaye ( normal arguments or nargaining) phir dekho inke rang dhang.

“Paisa nahi hai to aage badho. Hum kam nahi karega.”

  10. Every nation has political refugees. There are innumerable political refugees settled in US UK and so many other places.

And Tibet’s situation is even worse. As not many nations even give them asylum.

And China walked over Tibet. Just because the nation had no defense.

Now that might be considered as something really offensive had it been any nation other than China.

I can not get over the fact, the way world is turning a blind eye towards the whole situation.

  11. “Every nation has political refugees. There are innumerable political refugees settled in US UK and so many other places.”

dude whats going in himachal now with this refugees are now turning into big dada’s and fighting with locals , one has to be flexible with time by looking at one’s interest first

  12. Helping others is very good and a noble thing to do. But, when we have so many of ours that we can take care off and don’t then that helping others becomes a problem.

Take care of your own house first before you embark on something.

  13. Well said Ravi Bhai … whats the point in trying to help others when we are not able to help ourselves first?

  14. “I can not get over the fact, the way world is turning a blind eye towards the whole situation.”

Jiski Laathi uski bhains. China is a powerful country in terms of miltary, economy. No nation on earth would dare to say that you (China) are wrong, because of above reasons.

As for Indian Government not helping enough; we have our own problems. We have larger refugee problem in our own country, who are helped by NGOs but not by Government (due to paucity of fund and their zero political clout). How can we expect Govt to help citizens of other countries when our own are suffering.

Morally we should stand for the right; but right is always not convenient!

  15. “Jiski Laathi uski bhains. China is a powerful country in terms of miltary, economy. No nation on earth would dare to say that you (China) are wrong, because of above reasons.”

sahi baat hai , muscle power will always rule

  16. Helping is always based on priority. A nation could bypass its own if it were for a humanitarian crisis in another country. Generally agree with the sentiment to help your own before helping others but sometimes it is about priority and the extent of the crisis. Don’t personally know about the Tibet issue - my comments not in relation to that, just a general comment.

  17. Ravi bhai, why is it taht India is expected to do all the good deeds. Be it Tibet be it Palestine or be it Tasleema :?:

Kya duniya mein hum hi ek…. hain :?:

I mean lets become arefuge in any of the above mentioned countries and you can very well predict what our stataus will be there.

  18. Apni desi bhasha mein bolte hain, seedhe ka moonh kutta chaate.

To kya hum ko hi sab kuch kar ke dikhana hai?

There area lot of big super powers that talk of human rights. We have never claimed to be the pall bearers of that. To hum kyon karein aur woh kyon na karein ?

  19. True, Tango bhai agree on that. Superpowers talk about these things when they deem fit(meaning when they think it benefits them).

  20. Visiting Dharamsala, or more specifically McLeodganj, you get a very eerie feeling. You most definitely know that you are very much in India but somehow you are almost searching for dollars in your wallet. On my trips there, I have never felt the Tibetans to be rude, in fact found the whole atmosphere very friendly. I would any day take McLo to Anjuna. And yes the food there is just amazing, the best I have had at any Indian hill station! About the Indian government, I do not think that the Indian government supports them in any overt way, except allowing them to stay as refugees. And we should not forget that Tibet is not just any place, we have strategic interests and share cultural ties with the place. We can’t just wish it away or close our eyes. We are very much involved without a choice.
