Anil Mehta, cinematographer of such movies as, HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM (1999), SAATHIYA (2002) and VEER ZAARA (2004), is ready with his first directorial venture, AAJA NACHLE. Not many will know that Anil has been associated with Delhi’s theatre circle and there has always been a writer and director lurking somewhere within him.
Talking about AAJA NACHLE, the ace cinematographer disclosed that despite being in Bollywood for a long time, his first interaction with Madhuri Dixit was on the sets of the film itself. However he has no regrets about it and feels that it was a unique experience for him. Just to elaborate, Anil says that unlike the glamorous, ‘dhak-dhak’ image of the superstar, he saw the maternal side of the actress, as both her kids were present on the sets. This helped a lot as there are some aspects of that in the movie too. He was also very impressed by Madhuri’s stunning screen presence.

Well, Anil ji, we are as excited as you are (if not more) about the queen’s return to the silver screen. And already counting the days singing, ‘Ek, do, teen’!
