Bebo and Ranbir to revive the RK banner
Kareena Kapoor is all set to feature in an RK banner film. After much deliberation the Kapoor brothers - Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv - are ready to work on a youthful breezy romantic comedy early next year. The script has been finalised and the screenplay is in its final stages. Confirming the news, papa Randhir Kapoor says, “I’m making a film with Kareena. It’s going to be a youthful romantic film, and it should start in a few months from now.”
Ask him for details and he says, “We are going to make a formal announcement at the right time. All I can say is that the project featuring Bebo is underway.” We are no strangers to the fact that the Kapoor brothers have been working on scripts for the longest time. Their last production was Aa Ab Laut Chalen starring Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai, which had released in 1999.
Those in the know reveal that another film starring Ranbir Kapoor will hit the floors alongside. Randhir Kapoor says, “The Kapoor family is with Ranbir’s debut. We are making a film with Ranbir too. Both the films are set to start at the same time next year.”
News has it that elder daughter Karishma Kapoor intends to make a comeback. The actress, who shuttles between Mumbai and Delhi, has been reading up scripts. However, papa Randhir rules out any such possibility. He says, “I don’t think so.”
Meanwhile, he is delighted about Kareena’s new pad at Bandra. Randhir has been equally involved in the buying process. “My daughters do seek my advice and I was there when Bebo was buying the place. I really like the new house,” he says.
Known for his funny-bone, papa Randhir came up with a unique nickname for Shahid (read ‘Dodo’) on Koffee with Karan. We urge him to make suggestions for Kareena’s latest boyfriend Saif Ali Khan and he says, “It was something that came out on the spur of the moment and it was in good humour. I don’t want to fall in this trap again.” We insist and he says, “I don’t even know Saif Ali Khan.”
The Kareena Kapoor starrer is expected to be on the same lines as the youthful comedy Jab We Met, which is this year’s sleeper hit, while the Ranbir Kapoor flick is supposed to be an action flick on the lines of Dhoom 2.
Both movies will begin production at the same time and ar expected to be released early 2009.

Hey Imgr8, how are you? Your thoughts on Saawariya & Ranbir?
Comment by imgr8 on 22 November 2007:
lol..my thoughts
ok
He made me cringe initially when he tried to copy Raj Kapoor because those scenes are so popular that you are completely thrown off the movie and made to think about the movie that scene is taken from. But later on, he was his own man. He has charisma and flamboyance. The best scene I found was when he was getting beaten up, the look on his face was so intense, not many people like that scene. Everyone is going gaga over the telephone sequence, but I found that a bit OTT. But RK did really good in the rest of the movie
esp. in Jabse tere naina
who can complain about that haha
Saawariya - a snoozefest, SLb overdid with his tribute to Raj Kapoor and forgot that he needed a script and a basic plotline as well. Sets, cinematography are just an added value to the moviegoer, the basic content is the script!
Ranbir - the rockstar

also, a very superficial movie, it was as if SLB was feeding the emotions literally. Like he was telling you, here! look at this glorious moment and feel the passion in the air, but you feel nothing because he never gave a chance to the audience to ever connect with the characters..very choppy editing.

Ranbir is great when he is understated, like in Thorhe Badmash song. Ranbir is a born star, he is here to stay!

yeah..he looked really good in Thode badmaash, very childlike..I think he is a very controlled and calculated actor but SLB made him overdo stuff at times. But you have to give it to him for actually managing to look decent even while doing some atrocious stuff.
