people are braggin and kickin up dust about this film. It is a below average flick with good songs. Screenplay is poor. What’s the genre of this flick. The movie is very confusing cause it keeps shifting from comedy to romance to mystery to revenge to horror…it has everything…big package of everything…but that doesn’t work for the film it goes against it. The first half is alright, despite of the horrendous comedy SRk delivers. SRK just can’t pull of comedy. Whenever he tries, he just goes way overboard. The scene where he turns into the south actor and tries to please Deepika is just total bakwaas. It’s loud and way over the top…it will hurt your brain. Yes, for movies you should leave your brain behind…and I tried doing that for this film…but even without applying or concentrating on realism and logic I still couldn’t accept this film. For me poor comedy, dissing icons, not knowing your film’s genre, over-acting and bad song picturization is definetely a below average flick. King Khan is not in form here. I really try liking SRK and I have in many films. He rocked Chak De…but then in this film he’s just SRK once again and that just tires me out. In the second half he’s unbearable…he tries imitating the cool walk of Salman and Sanjay’s but he fails…it looks so cheesy. Deepika is good…but in the second half she dissapears for a while…her role changes bigtime in the second half and most of the time she can easily be forgotten…but she handles the climax well. The climax is clever, really clever…but then a revenge film just turns into a mystery/horror…leaving you to cratch your scalp and say…”WTF just happenned man”. Rampal was ok in this flick…suprisingly…the wooden actor does good in the villaneous role. Abhishek and AkKi…whats so good about them in their special appearances…both try too hard. The song with all the big stars…everyone was there…but then again not everyone (No Amitabh, Dalip, Anil, Hrithik etc)…is fun to watch. The other songs are so poorly picturized…my favourite song Dhoom Tana looked so corny…Deepika looked hot though. The movie’s conecpt…reincarnation or whatever the way the word is spelled…is not a bad idea…but in this movie it just doesnt click. In Karan Arjun and Karz it clicked..maybe cause both the movie had good directors behind them. As for Farah…I think you stink…I hated Main Hoon Na…but this movie is even worse…so EH. The plus points are the songs…they rock…Vishal-Shekar really gives you a great score…I didn’t like the picturizations but oh well. Deepika is also a plus point here…only if she had a stronger second half I’d think rate her performance higher. Shreyas is solid in this film as well but Kiron Kher OH MY LORD…I know her role demanded her to be over the top…but man was she annoying. And what was all those cheap shots at Manoj Kumar for…Manoj is the man…dont F*CK with him Farah…sheesh…thats just so cheap. All those duplicate actors looked nothing like the originals. I blame Farah completely for giving us a dissapointing film…I have no idea how people are giving this film second views in India.

some nice thoughts…agree w/ a lot. i thought it was about a 4 or a 4.5 at most. that south indian movie spoof was ok but if u want to see a better one check out 1 40 last local. i thought the akshay cameo was good not his vid clip but when they show him in the audience. and i dont see how u make a movie on teh 70s film industry w/ no mention of bachchan.

“SRK just can’t pull of comedy. Whenever he tries, he just goes way overboard”

Totally disagree. I think of all his antics, the only thing that he is actually really good at as an actor, is his comic ability and I, for one, beleive that’s one thing that been most instrumental in taking him to the superstardom hieghts in his career, more than anything else. Whether it be DDLJ, or KKHH.. or K3G, KHNH, MHN.. etc etc.. those movies would have been flops, if not disasters, if it weren’t for the comic quotient s inmbedded in them.

on a side note, if SrK is not good act comedy which other star is? If you think he goes overboard, then what would you say about teh Aamirs and Govindas.. or for that matter Akshay? For all the loud comedy scenes SrK does, there’s tonnes of them where he’s absolutely subtle and does a wonderfulm job at the light comic scenes, can you pinpoint one comic scene by the aformentioned stars that have do that? SrK may not be as good as Saif… or Big B.. but to say he absolutely sucks is just overblown statement. I mean, what are the standards then.. who are the actors that do comedy right according to you?
