It was generally believed that after Harman-Priyanka’s LOVE STORY 2050 had moved ahead to April 2008, Aamir Khan’s TAARE ZAMEEN PAR would be the sole major release during the Christmas week. However, that may not be the case anymore.
As per distribution sources, producer Firoz Nadiadwala is very determined to release his multistarrer, WELCOME, on the same date as Aamir’s directorial debut venture, TAARE ZAMEEN PAR, 21st December to be exact.
In fact, the promos of the Anees Bazmee directed film; featuring Feroze Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat (in the last shot) are already out. What is important to note is that the Christmas release information has been clearly highlighted.

Welcome Vs Taare Zameen Par

Finally, Anees Bazmee gives us a peek.
After success of No Entry in 2005, director Bazmee comes up with his first film, Welcome.
The film stars Nana Patekar, Feroz Khan and Anil Kapoor as gangsters who are looking for a suitable groom from a respected family for their sister, Katrina Kaif.
They finally zero in on Akshay Kumar but his uncle Dr Ghungroo (Paresh Rawal) does not want his nephew to enter into any association with a mob family.
And to add to the confusion, Mallika Sherawat lands up, claiming that she is already engaged to Akshay.
Produced by Feroz Nadiadwala, Welcome will release on December 21, 2007 along with Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par.
Look of Akshay in Welcome reminds me of his look in Jaaneman.
Here he looks to be playing a buffoon and not the usual chaloo type.
