Bollywood filmmakers are known for their herd mentality.
If a particular kind of film or song clicks, then every filmmaker wants to ‘relive’ that song or sequence in their next film.
After Akshay Kumar’s song Hare Krishna Hare Ram from Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa became a smash hit, Firoz Nadiadwala shot for a similar song with Akshay for his next film Welcome.
One more time
Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s success, to a large extent, is credited to the popularity of the Hare Krishna Hare Ram video. So Akshay was game to try the same formula for Firoz’s film. The set was put up at Film City last week and the music video, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya will be used for the film’s promotion.
A source reveals, “Akshay was quite excited with the track. He shot for it a few days back. It’s a catchy tune and will do well on the music charts.” Another coincidence? “This will also be the third time Akshay uses his real name Rajiv for his character in the film.” For those who don’t know, Akshay’s real name is Rajiv Bhatia.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Welcome also stars Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat and Nana Patekar.

I am getting a feeling that the makers want Welcome to flop.
Welcome was supposed to release in May 2007. We still do not know when it will release and it is almost end of 2007.
Law of average also have to catch up with Akshay.
“Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s success, to a large extent, is credited to the popularity of the Hare Krishna Hare Ram video.”
This is true to some extent as Akshay and the song really rocked.
“Bollywood filmmakers are known for their herd mentality.”
Firoz has been following this mentality with good success since last few years. He has however said to venture into another genres as well in future. He has signed Prakash Jha to direct his next.
