Achilles- Though the promo is not clear, I love the grand promo of a grand movie !
Hrithik looks aristocratic and his Urdu is flawless. I am sure that those who were expecting a funny Hrithik (as Akbar) must be hiding under the rugs
Aishwarya looks out of this world, an ethereal beauty!

I thought I should wait for a better quality promo before commenting on it but cant stop myself
Aish didnt really look as majestic as she is capable of. On the other hand, Hrithik totally dominated this promo..he looked really good in all the avatars
esp. when he was wearing that helmet with all the war attire. Liked the background music.

She doesn’t look like she did in say a Devdas. They have her a very natural look.
To me the promo focuses on their love story and the politics involved. Very epic. Can’t wait.

True, maybe a more natural look, in some scenes she reminded me of her look in Guru
hey fari, are u the same fari I know
From the promo, it looked like a major section of the movie will be on the battlefield.

‘Liked the background music’
Yes, that did stand out along with the battlefield scenes.

My comments on the promo here:
http://www.naachgaana.com/2007.....ag-review/
I didn’t comment on the score but that sounded interesting and of course Rahman needs no intro. Hrithik’s ‘Urdu’ shouldn’t be an issue for all the reasons cited in the language debates recently.

Actually I think Ash looks rather deglamorised here. In fact she looks younger. don’t find her similar to Devdas or Guru here.

I heard the promo was a grand spectacle..I don’t know, I thought it sucked to say the least, may be it has to do the quality of the promo? I don’t know.

“I don’t know, I thought it sucked to say the least”
this is precisely the reason why i didnt put up such a low quality degrading promo that i cud had done so earlier

This promo is great. The print quality is not good but Has repeat value too. To my surprise Hrithik suits Akbar and Aiswraya looks like a young princess. What stood out also was the politics, war sceens and the chemistry between Aishwarya + Hrithik. Ofcourse, Hrithik’s flawless urdu is another plus. Good background music.. This will have romance, power-play, politics, war…. Bring it on… Overall, an impactful promo with great repeat value.
A brilliant promo by Ashutosh Gowarikar. What is the response to this promo in the theatres in India? The buzz is very positive in the blogs.
Awaiting a good print quality promo now
Thanks to the person who uploaded this.

rishabh, the music playing in the background of the AG interview is from the movie Last of the Mohicans. I recognized it right away since that movie is one of my favorites.
imgr8, sorry–another fari here.

whats to be surprised abt?
oops … forgot the satyamian surprise factor … plus there will be lots of disappointment factor too in that kind of package now … this no way looks like the BO dud as predicted by some here.

Achilles the IBOS mafia will do a turaround as they know it’ll open big but feel that it’ll crash like Mangal Pandey. The boss too is airing the same views at another place

fari: yeah u are a different fari
both faris love aish though.
I dont get it, why cant people here rise above their prejudices and appreciate a good performance? I m not a fan of either Aish or hrithik but I think this movie is something different and I like it for that.

Finally it is here! Though I wud still want a better quality promo, a lot can be said:
HR’s dominance is captured against Ash’s vulnerability. The intrigue and politics conveyed thru the dialogues definitely seem top-rate, and would IMO be the heart of the movie. Ash’s stubborn resistance to the politics of the royal household, HR’s quest for power, their falling in love, all of these seem to be the potentially captivating threads in the movie.
Maybe the poor quality of the promo doesnt do justice to the supposedly grand battle scenes but then I dont think expecting Gladiator/Troy etc kind of visual effects would be proper from a movie of this budget. Special Effects of that order would cost a lot more than 50 crs.
