Global Voices: Chak De India or Go For It India
Chak De India (Go For it India) is a Bollywood film that was released last month, and what an impact the film has on the psyche of Indians. In India Chak De India has become a magic mantra of sorts and Indian business schools are thinking of including the film in their curriculum. The film is about the vision and determination of a hockey coach, who molds the team’s spirit and thinking and helps them win the world cup.
In general, Indians are not known for their prowess in the sports field, except for cricket. Yes, in the world of cricket, Indian cricket players play a fairly decent game and have won quite a few matches. However, at the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup in Johannesburg, the Indian cricket team led by Mahindra Singh Dhoni did an outstanding job and won the World Cup after a gap of 23 years.
Many bloggers wonder if the Chak De India effect is responsible for the string of wins by India in cricket, football and hockey?

What? How can a movie make team members win? CDI is a good movie but how exactly does watching CDI makes any difference to players. They win due to their hardwork and talent. Please stop posting such silly articles.
It demeans the effort of sports people.

I second Nithya’s thoughts.
nithya:even i do agree matches are won by sheer hard work and determination.movies hardly makes any difference in the real world.it is us who are gonna decide how we are going to make this world a better place to live in.
as far as posting this so called silly article is concerned, i just did it for the sake of posting .if i really focus on the quality of article, then i guess there is not much of articles which are of publishable standard.
if u guys really believe its not worth it and i did a terrible mistake by posting , then i guess this article should be deleted as soon as possible.
som, please do not stop posting. Jahan itni “silly” cheezen post hoti hain ek aur se koi faraq nahin padne waala.
It is a phase when a big movie is released and that too with impact. We had lot of articles when Guru, Partner, Heyy Babyy were released. Last year we had RDB, LRM,KRRISH and KANK.
My philosophy if I don’t like anything, IGNORE.
