I know its hard but I think its required considering there is so much hate among members in NG. Just try to come up with something good about an actor/director/producer/movie you despise. Please restrict your views to cinema and their contribution through their role. Just try it.

“Despise” is too strong a word; I don’t think i despise any celeb, but here goes:
Salman Khan: fantastic off-screen in celebrity situations: watching him on TV shows, or at events, one feels he is a true star, not in the slightest bit uncomfortable, and he loves every minute of it. There’s also a cheeky aspect to some of these appearances (e.g. the one on SaReGaMa), and I love his barbs…

Well Salman also comes closest for me as a star though like Qalandar I also enjoyed his Saregama outing quite a bit.
The Tamil equivalent of Salman is Vijay for me (though the Captain is up there too!).
Can’t think of a director offhand though I tend to despise the pretentiousness of much of the new breed at times, specially the multiplex-oriented directors, who think they’re doing great things in cinema, just because they’ve turned their backs on the masala tradition.

In general what I most despise about the entire Hindi film industry and its media organs (this must be said!) is the utter lack of an ‘educated’ film culture.

yes can think of one scene in Hey Baby. When he goes into the baby room and vidya enters and he hides behind her or some one. that was well done by akshay. …. phew!

I do not like Shahrukh’s hamming the way he irritatingly did in Duplicate…period between post Darr and pre Dil to paagal Hai.
It required good directors to convince him that hamming is not called acting and fortunately for me he stopped it post Dil to paagal hai and emerged as one of the most likable actor for me.

“post Dil to paagal hai and emerged as one of the most likable actor for me.” you mean acting or hamming Nitesh bhai.
If you feel he has stopped Hamming then I suggest you re visit Devdas! I promise you will not be disappointed

Similar to what SRK used to do was done by Sridevi when he used to laugh…
remember that chandni title song…
naam mera dil pe likh kar bas tumne baat ba li hai
bade wo…bataaon tumhe pyaar sikhaaon tumhe
apni *** ke andar tri tasveer banaa li hai…
of course her childish comedy …
I used to find her extending her role of Sadmaa(in which she was brilliant) in other movies.

Sid…I agree he hammed a bit in Devdas esp in his drunk scene….but somehow i felt that it was a serious scene and it was OK to go Over the top which SRK did…though a bit restraint could have been more effective.

I find Akshay too childish in few scenes in Mr and Mrs Khiladi…esp that Aalooo scene.
I know that children were rolling in that movie but then it should not have the title Khiladi.

Well i think i am on a roll…
I find Ajay Devgan awful in comic scenes. Remember the ISHQ sequence and his expressionless faces. Aamir and Juhi saved the day.
Of course he is again an extraordinary actor in serious roles.

Nitesh: Dil Dukha diya, I like Ajay’s “dry” comedy aka GOLMAAL and CASH(hated the movie).
Karan Johar-director I despite, think he canned Abhishek’s outburst in KANK supremely well!

Akshay bhai…as you said Ajsay’s style is dry…and you need to have good sense of humour (or bad) to understand and appreciate those.
agree with you on Karan canning the best scene, according to me, that of Abhi’s outburst in Kabh Alvidaa…

Saif Ali Khan…
oh boy….
He was absolutely pathetic in Yeh Dillagi…
I remember people in the movie laughing at him when he get angry with his big brother, Akshay. His angry outburst was hillarious.
Akshay who was that that good an actor at that time looked like Tom Hanks infornt of him.
Over the period, Saif evolved and now he is a force to reckon with.

Hrithik Roshan,,
Who can forget the fiasco called Main Prem Ki Deewani hoon.
Totally unexpected from the actor of Kaho Naa Pyar hai,…his acting would have made his papa to yell at Hrithik. Rakesh Roshan acted much better in Kamchor for the same role (Main Prem ki…was a copy of Kaamchor)
Hrithik Hammed big time, easily the most irritating role of the decade.
Sooraj ofcourse later said that Hrithik’s role was his brainchild and took full responsibility of Hrithik’s letdown.
Hrithik made the Salman’s act of Prem look like Oscar worthy..thanks to such a dismal portrayal of a lover.
It took a moster like Krrish to wipe off his irritating face with a cartoon parrot and since then he has rose like a phoenix.

Manoj Bajpai,
This amazing actor made a potentially good movie rubbish.
I am talking about Bewafaa.
He came post interval in a movie that was looking to enter into an exciting phase (Anil finds his wife Kareena cheating for Akshay while Akshay was planning to come to India to take away his beloved), enter our Bhiku Mahatre.
He hammed big time, complete displayed an outrageous portrayal and made the movie’s screenplay to nosedive. The climax tried to give a reason for his bizarre behaviour but the audience had left the theatre by that time.
He is still struggling to recover from that disaster that was once touted as his entry to mainstream movies.

Bajpai has given what I consider 5 landmark performance from SATYA, SHOOL, KAUN, PINJAR and AKS!

Absolutely. Som is one of NG’s most valuable members, not least because of his fairness..
