The movie is hailed as the best performance of Ajith till date and has touched many a hearts, which has translated into good numbers in the box-office. It’s a valiant effort by a debutant director to choose such an off beat theme and not to compromise with the story after getting the nod from a star.

Good Publicity and Ajith’s star value has translated into a superb opening for the film. Ajith has proved yet again why he is termed as the king of openings.

Purely based on audience’s reaction, I feel (and this is pure speculation, of course) “Kireedam” is not going to make huge waves, because it doesn’t sustain the thala-thing throughout the film. But, it’ll be a decent hit, thanks to what’s usually referred to as the elements of “sentiment” which the “family audience” will patronise.

P.S.:- I may turn out to be completely wrong, of course.
