B.O. update: ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’ Opens huge

Himesh Reshammiya’s first film as an actor, AAP KAA SURROOR, has caught the entire film industry unaware. The film has opened to an earth-shattering response [95%-100%] everywhere, from East to West, from North to South

Box-office is most unpredictable! The stupendous opening of Himesh Reshammiya’s first film as an actor, AAP KAA SURROOR, has caught the entire film industry unaware. The film has opened to an earth-shattering response [95%-100%] everywhere, from East to West, from North to South. In fact, at several centres, the opening of this film is at par with KRRISH and DHOOM 2, the biggest openers of 2006. Incredible, isn’t it?

APNE is carrying extremely positive reports and has opened to very good houses in North, but is in the range of 40% - 50% at other centres.

AWARAPAN too is carrying encouraging reports, but has been affected due to multiple releases in the week. It wouldn’t be erroneous to state that AAP KAA SURROOR has made a dent in the business of all films, past and present.

    No Jayshah it was not unpredictable. Checkout PB BO and you will realise that taht is how it was going to be.

    Monday onwards the true picture will emerge.

    The loser here will be poor Emraan Hashmi.

    On Saregama, Himesh gets most of the wildcard (Brahamastra) votes. So he has following but we are dismissive about him.
    But real picture as Tango suggested will emerge after Monday. Right now it is fan rush, after Monday it is movie, which is good, is going to stand.

    Problem Himesh faces as an actor is he will somehow have to make a film 500 days long, the length of his music.

    Actually this does not bother me because as Q pointed out somewhere else:This is what the public wants and plus Bollywood was desperate for a hit.

    This is quite shocking! If it holds true, I wouldn’t be suprised if Himmesh moves into acting full time. Which I guess isn’t a bad thing as the 60 soundtracks he does a year would go to someone else.

    AKS may not have legs.Plus Himesh once the novelty wers of ,Himesh is not going to appeal as an actor.BTW he has given some decent songs like Aashiq banaya….

    I hope the novelty doesn’t wear off Rajen. I’d rather deal with Himmesh the actor rather than Himmesh the factory composer. Even if the lead actor thing doesn’t work out for him, he will easily find work as either a second or third lead. I mean if superstar Zayed Khan can find work, Himmesh can too!

    Thanks Akshashah but the ‘lambi race ka ghoda’ will be Apne, plus its bad news on Awarapan front.

    Another week and Awarapan had the merits . Lets hope it does pick up.

    This Himesh guy is a rage amongst the masses , something on these lines was expected but still , the magnitude of this opening is surprising indeed.

    NOTE - Have left out script writer. Agar picture mein Himesh ke laaambe 12 - 13 gaane hoyenge - toh who needs a script writer :-)
