5th Pune International Film Festival 2007

This is an event I am attending, apart from other screenings of PIFF between March 15th-22nd. I don’t know about many of the international names mentioned here so would be really glad with any info I could get on them.

PIFF begins on March 15th
Inaguration by Priyranjan Das Munshi, filmmaker Mani Ratnam, chief guest Urmila Matondkar– special invitee. The prestigious 5th Pune International Film Festival(PIFF), will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Information Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Priyranjan Das Munshi on 15th March 2007 at 6:30 pm at E Square Multiplex.

International Juri members for the competitive section of the film festival will also be present. The list includes director-screenwriter and actor from Hungary, Can Togay, screenplay writer and creative producer from Switzerland, Johannes Boesiger, documentary filmmaker from UK, Ian Mc Donald, actor from China, Shi Liang, director from Iran, Mohammad Ahmadi, K G George from India and Film scholar Samic Bandopadhya.

Oscar nominated film Volver’(Director Pedro Almodover) from Spain is the inaugural film and will be screened at 9 pm on March 15th.

    Good for you Sandy! Naah, don’t know any of those firangi names. But you should be getting most of them on google or so.
